B rister Funeral Home, family owned and operated for over 43 years. John Brister established the first funeral home in Immokalee when he opened the doors in 1968. John and Mary Brister raised 7 children in Immokalee which is also where Mary grew up, and both were an active part of the community until retirement in 1996.

After growing up around the funeral home, Joseph served in the Marines. Joe met his wife Barbara in 1990 in Fort Myers where in her career, she always held positions in customer service.

Joe and Barb moved to St. Petersburg so Joe could continue his education, and to obtain additional degrees in Mortuary Science. Joe and Barb then bought Brister Funeral Home from Joe's parents when they were ready for retirement, and continue to care and service the community of Immokalee. A community in which they proudly live.
