Anthony George Primavera

Anthony George Primavera, 22, passed away on the evening of Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family while on vacation aboard the Disney Cruise Line Wish. After a courageous battle with kidney disease and heart failure, Anthony left this world in one of the places that made him happiest, in the middle of the Disney magic he loved so much, with the people who loved him most. Anthony was born on May 19, 2004. Anyone who knew him knew he faced more than any young man should. He fought kidney disease for much of his life, and he received the gift of a kidney transplant from the person who loved him most, his mother. Later, he faced heart failure with the same strength and spirit that inspired everyone around him. But his health challenges never defined him. What defined Anthony was his big heart, his sense of humor, and his passion for the things he loved. And Anthony loved big. He was a true Disney kid at heart, and some of his most treasured memories were made on Disney trips with his mom. He was a devoted WWE fan, and there was no question who his favorite was: Roman Reigns. Wrestling was something special he shared with his dad, Chris. The two of them loved talking through the matches as they happened, and the conversation never really stopped when the show ended. Whether it was the latest storyline, a big win, or who deserved the next title shot, Anthony was always ready to talk wrestling with his dad. When he wasn't watching WWE, you could usually find him on his Xbox playing Fortnite, and his favorite person to play with was his brother Gabe. He also treasured his conversations with his brother Justin, talks full of the kind of brotherly love that meant the world to him. And on Sundays, he bled blue for his New York Giants, win or lose. Anthony's mother, Nicole, was his best friend. The two of them shared a bond that was all their own, one that went deeper than most, because Nicole gave Anthony one of her kidneys. From that day on, they were forever “Kidney Buddies.” Together they shared Disney adventures and countless everyday moments in between. Anthony also knew exactly how to let her know when he was annoyed with her: he would call her by her middle name, “Renee.” It was his own special way of making a point, and it's a memory that will bring a smile to his family for the rest of their lives. Anthony also had a devoted companion in the family cat, Pidgey, known to Anthony as “Dr. Sugarplum.” Pidgey loved to lie beside Anthony on his bed and watched over his favorite “patient” with great care. Pidgey passed away on August 22, 2026, just a month before Anthony. 

Anthony is survived by his mother, best friend, and Kidney Buddy, Nicole Renee Austin, and his stepfather, Marshall Austin; his father, Chris Primavera, and Chris's companion, Jamie Carroll; his stepfather, Joshua Bauer, and Joshua's wife, Michelle Bauer; his brothers, Justin Bauer and Gabe Primavera; his grandmother Cheryl Bauer; his grandmother Judy Austin; his grandparents George and Lisa Primavera; his uncle and aunt, Tim and Natasha Sanford; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Zengen, Ronald Bauer, and Thomas Austin; his grandmother Linda Felice; and his uncle, Paul Zengen Jr. Anthony's time with us was far too short, but the love he gave and the joy he brought will stay with us forever. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace, free from pain, and reunited with his grandfathers, his grandmother Linda, and his Uncle Paul, who we imagine greeted him with open arms, and with Dr. Sugarplum, back at his side and on duty once again.
