It is with deep love and sorrow, yet with
faith in God's promise of eternal life, that
we announce the passing of David
Carrillo, age 72, who entered the
presence of the Lord peacefully at his
home, surrounded by his family, after a
courageous nine-year battle with cancer.
Con profundo amor y tristeza, pero con la fe
puesta en la promesa de la vida eterna,
anunciamos el fallecimiento de David Carrillo,
a la edad de 72 años, quien partió a la
presencia del Señor en paz, en su hogar y
rodeado del cariño de su familia, después de
una valiente batalla de nueve años contra el
cáncer.

David was one of eleven brothers and
sisters born to his parents in the state of
Guanajuato, Mexico. From humble
beginnings and a story rooted in migration,
his family built a life grounded in hard
work, perseverance, and faith. The Carrillo
family later settled in Immokalee, Florida,
where David began his own family and
became a cherished member of the
community.
David fue uno de once hermanos, nacido de
sus padres en el estado de Guanajuato,
México. Proveniente de orígenes humildes y
de una historia marcada por la migración, su
familia construyó una vida basada en el
trabajo, la per yo severancia y la fe. Más
adelante, la familia Carrillo se estableció en
Immokalee, Florida, donde David formó su
propia familia y se convirtió en un miembro
muy querido de su comunidad.

David is lovingly remembered by his
devoted wife of years, Juana Elia; his
beloved daughters, Martha (John), Sarah
(Justin), and Claudia (Alfredo); his
cherished grandchildren Lisette, David,
Jaylynn, Evelyn, Maddex, Ari, Adalyn,
Ira, Martha, Ryan, Justin, and Sarah
Deliah, Delonce, Tavis, Adanien, Angel
and his three great-grandchildren. He
leaves behind his siblings, Manuel, Juan
Martin, Nico "Moré", Connie, Lupe,
Cristina, Adela, Irma, and many nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his beloved parents, Sara and Manuel
Carrillo; his sister, Maria Cristina, his

Maria Cristina, su hermano, Jesús Carrillo; y
su unico hijo, David Carrillo Jr brother, Jesus Carrillo; and his only son,
David Carrillo Jr.

David found his greatest joy in spending
time with his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchild, whose laughter and
presence were true blessings in his life. He
enjoyed fishing with his brother Juan
Martin, loved finding great seafood, and
cherished watching University of Texas
Longhorns football with his family. As his
health allowed, David traveled to visit his
siblings in Texas and the Rio Grande
Valley, especially treasuring time spent
with his oldest brother, Manuel Carrillo. In
recent years, he found peace sitting
outside his home, enjoying the weather
and visiting with sisters, cousins, and
friends who stopped by to reminisce about
the good old days.
David encontraba su mayor alegría al pasar
tiempo con sus hijos, nietos y bisnieto, cuyas
risas y presencia fueron una gran bendición en
su vida. Disfrutaba pescar con su hermano
Juan Martin, tenía un gusto especial por
encontrar buenos mariscos y le encantaba ver
los partidos del equipo de fútbol americano de
la Universidad de Texas Longhorns junto a
su familia. Mientras su salud se lo permitió,
viajó para visitar a sus hermanos en Texas y el
Valle del Río Grande, atesorando
especialmente los momentos compartidos con
su hermano mayor, Manuel Carrillo. En los
últimos años, disfrutaba sentarse afuera de su
hogar, gozar del clima y convivir con sus
hermanas, primos y amigos que pasaban a
visitarlo para recordar los viejos tiempos.

David will be lovingly remembered for his
strength, unwavering faith, sense of
humor, and the deep love he held for his
family.
David será recordado con amor por su
fortaleza, su fe inquebrantable, su sentido del
humor y el profundo amor que siempre tuvo
por su familia.

We trust that he now rests in God's eternal
peace and that his soul has found rest in
the arms of our Lord. Grant him, O Lord,
eternal rest, and let perpetual light
shine upon him.
Confiamos en que ahora descansa en la paz
eterna de Dios y que su alma ha encontrado
descanso en los brazos de nuestro Señor.

There will be a viewing at Brister Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday February 12, 2026, from 6-8 pm and a funeral mass at Our lady of Guadalupe on Friday february 13, 2027 10 am. Burial at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.
