Karen Lynn Purvis James, age 66 passed away peacefully at her home Oct 7th, 2026.

Born in Homestead, FL on February 05, 1960, Karen was a nurse and a caregiver of anybody that needed help. She loved her animals small, large and of all kinds. As her cousins would say Karen was a lot, but she was our Karen…

She is survived by her sons Carl James and Michael Spindle. Grandsons Evan Spindle, Robert Spindle, Mason Spindle, Miranda Lynn Spindle. Her mother Glenora Purvis and sister Patty Swilley (Henry). Nephews Henry Swilley Jr.(Jeannie) Bobby Purvis (Nicki), and Brandon Purvis.

Karen is preceded in death by her father Robert Purvis Sr. and brother Bobby Purvis.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 24th, 2026 @ 10:00am at Brister Funeral Home
