Adela A. Sanchez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 7, 2011 in Fort Myers.

Adela will be remembered as a gentle woman who loved her God, her children, grandchildren, family and the elderly. Her passing has left a void in each family member, but she will remain in their hearts forever.

While their mother had no formal education, to her family, she was the greatest teacher to her family. She instilled in each of them the importance of hard work and education. She lived a hard life, losing her mother at the age of 14. She had to become a mother to her 7 siblings while attending school and helping her father harvest the land. She was the epitome of a grand lady and will be greatly missed.

Adela was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on December 16, 1923 and migrated to the United States in 1945.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Adan Sanchez, Sr.

She is survived by five daughters and one son; Alicia M. Sanchez, Blanca S. Aguilar (Guadalupe), Isabel Sanchez, Rosa S. Estrada (Oscar), Eva Sanchez-Thorpe and Adan Sanchez, Jr.(April).

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her grandchildren; Kevin, Adam III, Adam IV, Victoria, Joshua, Marcos, Justin, Monica, Oscar Jr., and Trent, great-grandchildren; Anthony, Cameron, Adam V, Seth, Isaiah, Joshua Jr., and Nicole.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the First Seminole Baptist Church, 800 Church Lane, which is at the Seminole Indian Reservation, Immokalee, with Pastor John Bex officiating.
