Alex Gerald Pickles, "Gerald" was born on July 12, 1933, at home in Shaw, FL in Madison County to Joe B Pickles and Janette Jacobs Pickles. He married Christine Allen on August 10, 1954, and they moved to Immokalee in October 1957 where he was a Game Warden with the Florida Fish and Game Commission.  He went to work with the Collier County Sheriff's Office shortly thereafter until his retirement.  He also worked for his sister in the citrus industry followed by a security floor officer with the Seminole Indian Casino in Immokalee.

Gerald is preceded in death by his beloved wife Christine.  He is survived by 3 children:  son, Allen Pickles, daughter, Joyce Pickles McLeod, and son, Kenny (Nancy) Pickles.  He has 4 surviving brothers: Kenneth (Carole), Jack (Margaret), Dale (Connie), Victor (Beckie),) and 2 sisters, Blanche Blank (Charles), Muriel Verser, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. at

the Baptist Cemetery , 820 North 11th Street in Immokalee with his

brother Kenneth Pickles officiating.
