Apolinar Martinez, known to all as "Polo", was called to Heaven January 6, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Martinez was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to father Ponciano Martinez and mother Izidoro Saucedo Martinez January 8, 1947. He passed just 2 days before his 70th birthday.
He married his beloved wife Maria Marquez and he loved raising his children in Immokalee around family and friends. He was a hard worker being self employed as a agriculture wholesaler until illness prevented him from working any longer.
Polo is survived by his wife Maria Martinez, 1 daughter: Maritza Martinez, 3 sons: Rodolfo, Rafael and Ricardo Martinez, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Dionicia Martinez, brother and sister-in-laws, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Brister Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 beginning at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Willner officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.
