We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bladimir Velasquez, Jr. on September 18, 2021. BJ as he was known to all, was just 20 years old, was born to mother Maricela Herrera and and father Bladimir Velasquez, Sr. on February 13, 2001. The family has a joke that he just couldn't wait for Valentines day, but he shared a deep love with his family no matter what the date was.

BJ loved the beach and he collected beautiful shells and had wanted to learn to surf. He was an artist with great skills in everything he tried--drawing, painting either with paint brush or spray paint. He loved going each year to the Art Walk in downtown Fort Myers. BJ liked habanero peppers and skateboarding. He had a beautiful mind and spirit, and was a sweet, shy young man.

He recently became a vegan and would do his own cooking that most of his family and friends actually enjoyed. He loved the earth and wanted to make it a better place to live and to preserve it. He didnt want to drive a vehicle and pollute the air, he would get back and forth with his scateboard.

BJ is survived by his mother Maricela Herrera, step father Pedro, father Bladimi, Sr., 3 sisters and 3 brothers along with many many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and co-workers.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
