It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecelia Caliz Garza, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and so much more. Cecelia was born on September 5, 1961, in Tamaulipas Matamoros, Mexico, and passed away on November 7, 2024, in Immokalee, Florida.

Cecelia spent her early years in Mexico, working at Zeniths. In her early 20s, she moved to Immokalee, Florida, where she embraced a new life and worked tirelessly in various roles, including farm labor for Tip Top, cooking at local daycares, cleaning, and ultimately finding a long-standing position at a dry cleaner in Naples, Florida, where she dedicated over 20 years of service.

Cecelia's life was a testament to hard work, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as spending time with loved ones, playing lotería, cooking, watching her favorite Novelas, and tuning into Law & Order. A devoted member of her church community, Cecelia's door was always open to friends and family in need. She was known for her warmth, her generosity, and her ability to make anyone feel at home.

She is survived by her three sons, Gerado Estrella, Julio Estrella, and Christian Estrella; her grandchildren, Rafael Estrella, Malarie Estrella, Cruz Estrella, Celeste Estrella, and Julio Estrella; and her great-granddaughter, Eliana Estrella.
Cecelia is also survived by her loving siblings and their families:
•       Juan Castro and his wife Martha, with their children: Leticia (mother of three sons and a daughter), Jennifer (mother of a son and a daughter), and Monica (mother of two daughters).
•       Manuel Castro and his wife Cecilia, with their children Genesis and Manuel.
•       Rosa Maria Castro and her daughter Rocio Maldonado, with her four children (two daughters and two sons).
•       Perla Alvarado and her husband Joe Alvarado, with their three sons, and Joshua Peña.
•       Elizabeth Castro, with her son Jorge Medina and his wife Dorian, who have two children (a son and a daughter).
•       Esperanza Castro, with her children Gisel and Juan Martinez.
•       Carlos Caliz (deceased) and his wife Guadalupe, with their children: Emmanuel and his wife Ariana (parents of two daughters and a son), David (father of one son), Mayra (mother of three daughters), Eliut, and Abraham.

A viewing will be held at Brister Funeral Home, 221 N Third St, Immokalee, FL 34142, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The Memorial Service will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 207 S 9th St, Immokalee, FL 34142, on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10 AM.

Cecelia will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and love remains in the hearts of her family and friends.
