Edward Hunter, 74 passed away Wednesday June 17, 2009 in Greenville, South Carolina.

Mr. Hunter was born December 27, 1934 in Fort Myers, Florida to Joseph M. Hunter and Mabel F. (Kennon) Hunter. He was raised in Immokalee and lived 30 years in Naples, Florida before retiring and moving to Walhalla, SC.

He married his beloved wife Joy (Porter) December 17, 1955 in Avon Park, Florida. He was a Deputy Sheriff for 30 years with the Collier County Sheriff Department.

He will be remembered for his love of his family, hunting, his quest for antiques, horses, and his great gift of building. He was a great builder. He built two of his own homes and restored a 100 year old home in South Carolina.

Survivors include wife, Joy Porter Hunter, daughter, Cindy Vazquez (Juan), son, Richard Ballard (Sandy). Three grandchildren; Tiffany, Tristin, and Blaze Vazquez. Sister, Jeannine Paul;
sister-in-laws; Ruth Raczkowski,Iris Smallwood and Stella McGinniss, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Immokalee, FL, 9:00 am with the Funeral Service following at 10:00 am. Pastor Arthur Sims from Avalon Grace Church, Naples will be officiating. Burial will follow at Baptist Cemetery, Immokalee, FL.
