Francisco Afanador, 94 of Immokalee was called to Heaven August 26, 2016.

Mr. Afanador was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico November 15, 1921 to father Demetrio Afanador and mother Trinidad Mendez Afanador. He met and married the love of his life Carmen Marie Gonzalez when he was 20 years old. They were married for over 74 years.

Before coming to the United States and retirement he was a coffee farmer. He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to Hispanic music-especially the oldies. Francisco was a hard working man and he loved to ride horses, loved being on the land. He was a cowboy at heart! Francisco was a Christian man, he read the Bible and loved to go to church and listen to the Gospel.

Francisco has left many loved one to survive without him until they see him again, including his devoted wife: Carmen Marie Afanador, three daughters: Maria Perez (Radamez), Elizabeth Emmer (Paul), Nydia Ramos (Hector) along with four sons: Francisco Afanador, Jr. (Mirta Bermudez), Sigfredo (Migdalia Cintron), Elvin (Maria Ramos) and Sergio (Noemi). Nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Lake Trafford and S.R. 29 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the church, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at The Baptist Cemetery.
