Gilberto L. Gomez 82, born in Loreado TX on February 3, 1942 to Amelia Loredo Gomez &  Enrique Gomez passed away peacefully in his sleep in Ave Maria on August 20,2024.

He leaves behind five children Martha Vergara, John Gomez, Cindy Aguilar (Spouse) Edward Aguilar Sr, Sandra Dagle (Spouse) Evan Dagle & Samuel Schell.

Fourteen Grandchildren Richard Vergara Jr (Spouse) Alyssa Vergara, Ashley Vergara, Melissa Vergara, Jessica Aguilar, Edward Aguilar Jr (Spouse) Rayanna Aguilar, Spencer Aguilar (Spouse) Nuris Jimenez , John Gomez Jr, Benjamin Morris (Spouse) Kylee Morris , Jake Morris

Gilberto served his community of Immokalee as a bus driver for Lorenzo Walker Vo-Tec School, he ran COFFO for several years and was also served on the Immokalee Water Board.  He was known for his cooking, kindness, and opening his door to anyone that needed a safe place. Most of all he loved all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, he also loved his brother and and sisters (Teresa, Sara, Sandra, Janie, MaryJo, Ofelia (was married to Henry), Mary(married to Raymond), ).

He loved his coffee by the pool, watching his great-grand kids in the pool, If you were asked about or received a phone call from him, you were a part of his loving circle and very lucky. His cooking and his sense of humor will be forever missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at a later date.
