We are saddened to announce the passing of Gloria H. De La Rosa.

Gloria was born in Raymondville, Texas to father Trinidad Hernandez and mother Adela Ortiz Hernandez July 20, 1950--she had celebrated her 71st birthday almost 1 month before her death. Before retiring, Gloria worked at RCMA in Immokalee.  She loved children!! Not just her own, and her nieces and nephews, but the children from work, and their families along with the neighborhood children.

Her passion were children, she made sure the neighborhood kids, especially after school, had food, fun and a place out of the rain. She was a great cook and always more then needed so she could give to family, friends and those that needed a little help. Gloria loved to dance, and everyone was always amused that she gave everyone a nick-name. She was born with a "green thumb" she loved her flower gardens and they always bloomed bright.  Her favorite was the sunflower and she made sure to plant them every year.

Gloria will be mourned by many, including her 2 daughters: Irma Sturgeon (Sam) and Cindy De La Rosa  2 sons: Jerry Del La Rosa Jr., and Andy De La Rosa (Melissa)  2 sisters: Josie Hernandez and Pearla Rodriguez, 3 brothers: Trinidad Hernandez Jr., Vincent Hernandez and Jessie Hernandez, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded by 7 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Brister Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-8:00 pm with the service beginning at 7:00 by Pastor Bronce Flint of The Family Prayer Center officiating.
