Gloria Delores Preston-Lynom, 57 was called by her Lord and Savior to rest on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Gloria debuted into the lives of Phillip and Viola Preston on Friday, March 22, 1957 in Hastings, Florida.
Growing up in Immokalee, Gloria (affectionately known as Kitty) forged life-long bonds with her classmates and community. She is survived by her loving and devoted mother, Viola Henderson-Preston, Immokalee, FL-of whom she leaves to honor and cherish her loving memory along with her husband of 36 years, Carl Lynom, Sr. (3) daughters: Edlisha D. Wright-Walters (Idris), Shatia Lynom, and LaBrisha Lynom; two (2) sons:Carl Lynom, Jr. and Terriance D. Lynom, all of Lehigh, FL. Her first born niece of whom she shared a very special bond, Dr. Nathelia D. LaSane-Barnes (Kerry), Stone Mountain, GA, one sister(1): Margie Preston, Altanta, GA, two (2) brothers: Bobby Henderson, Sr., Daytona Beach, FL and Jafice Fieos, Jr., Ft Myers; one (1) aunt, Pastor Diana Henderson-Brown, Stuart, FL ; two (2) uncles, Cush Foose, Rochester, NY and Sangre Henderson, Jr., Immokalee, FL. five (5) sisters-in-law: Bridget Frederick (Lindsey) and Barbara Anderson both of Lehigh Acres, Cathyrn Campbell (Luther), Harlem Height, FL, Mary Green, Orlando FL and Gwenda Lynom, Ft Myers. Three (3) brothers-in-law; James Lynom (Evelyyn), Clarence Lynom (Brenda) and David Lynom (Kendell) all of Lehigh Acres, FL. Her best friend of over 30 years, Clara Wade, three (3) close family friends; Beverly Peterson and Frances Robinson, both of Ft. Myers and Dorothy Martin, Lehigh Acres, FL, fifteen (15) grandchildren; three (3) god-children, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends and many other children of whom she loved and nurtured and who affectionately referred to her as "Ma".
The Celebration of Gloria's life will be held, Saturday, February 7, 2015, 11:00 AM at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, 201 Eustis Avenue, Immokalee, Florida.
