Hortencia Herrera's Obituary
Hortencia Herrera, 66 of Immokalee was called to the Lords Open Arms in Heaven, September 14, 2013.
Mrs. Herrera was born in Alamo, Texas July 6, 1947 to father Manuel Urbino and mother Sira Rendon Urbino.
She married her beloved husband Armando Herrera January 25, 1964 in Labelle, Florida. Hortencia worked for Naples Community Hospital for over 23 years in the housekeeping department. She loved and enjoyed her family, her favorite flowers were roses-usually yellow and lilac, and she enjoyed all kinds of shopping.
Mrs. Herrera is survived by her husband of 49 years, Armando Herrera, five children; Elida Herrera, Armondo Herrera, Jr. (Christine), Omar Herrera (Lilly) Richard Herrera (Linda) and James Herrera (Julia), 22 children and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Andrea Herrera in July 2000 and three siblings. Hortencia was one of 10 children and is survived by brothers and sisters; Jose, Lolo, Guadalupe, Carolina, Melinda and Kina.
There will be a Visitation at Brister Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 beginning at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Immokalee. Burial will follow at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.
We will attempt the burial for Mrs. Herrera on Thursday October 3, 2013 at 1pm.
