Juanita "Janie" Alvarez Loreto 66 of Immokalee, passed away at her home November 6, 2019.

Janie, as she wanted to be called, was born October 8, 1953 in San Benito, Texas to father Juan Alvarez and mother Lorenza Alvarez. She enjoyed crocheting and made little change purses for family and friends.  She was a long standing member of the Moose Lodge in Labelle where she was known -- both at the lodge and at home, for making the best tacos. She especially would make them and give out to the "snowbirds" each year. Janie was awarded the Member of the Year in 2013 from the Moose Lodge.  She enjoyed dancing and listening to Tijuana music. Her favorite colors were purple and lavender.

Janie is survived by her husband of 38 years to Elido Loreto son Josue "Jay" Cortez 2 sisters: Eva Lecea and Isabel Rodriguez along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Janie told her family that she wanted to be cremated and they are honoring her wishes.
