J. Jesus Rodriguez 79 of Immokalee was called to Heaven October 26, 2016.

Mr. Rodriguez was born in Chamacuaro, Acambaro, GTO, Mexico to father Federico Rodriguez and mother Transito Carrillo Rodriguez, September 20, 1937.

Jesus occupation was agriculture farming, but it was not a job to him. He loved working and harvesting the land.  He would start work before the sun was up and long after it went down at night and he enjoyed it all.  He was a devoted Catholic.  He loved his religion and made sure to install that devotion and believe to his children.  He often went back to Mexico and when a new priest would come to town, he was the only one in the whole town to make sure and make the long walk to the Church to greet and welcome the new priest.

He is survived by his loving family, including his beloved wife; Juana Rodriguez, (8) children; Victor Rodriguez, Maria Torres, Fidel Rodriguez, Maria G. Rodriguez, Juana Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez, Jose S. Rodriguez and Maricela Menera. (7) siblings; Orelia Juarez, Samuel Rodriguez, Alicia Bustamante, Teresa Rodriguez, Guadalupe Silva, Federico Rodriguez and Jose Louis Rodriguez.  He was preceded in death by his brother Francisco Rodriguez and baby son Benjamin Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Brister Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.
