Mrs. Leila Griffin 90 of Immokalee answered the Lords call on October 28, 2021.

She was known to all as Cissie. She was born in Mississippi to father Archie Lancaster and mother Ruby Mansell Lancaster on February 10, 1931. She was a strong, intelligent and funny woman who earned her Master's Degree in Education and was a teacher with the Collier County School System for many years before her retirement. She met and married her husband Charles Maxwell Griffin in Greenville, Mississippi on August 25, 1955 and they lived happily in Immokalee before his passing on January 23, 2006. She was a long standing member of First United Methodist Church, Immokalee.

Reading was one of her many passions along with making exceptional projects using needlepoint. Everyone will miss her ability of being a marvelous story teller, Cissie was captivating in telling her stories, she made everyone feel as if they were right there, in the stories she told. Mrs. Griffin was always an impressive, fashionable dresser with her clothes, jewelry and accessories. Cissie also was a harmonica player through out her life.

She is survived by her son Charles Maxwell "Max" Griffin, Jr., and two nieces: Charisse "Tudy" Hughes and Jane Lancaster Scott along with many friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on November 2, 2021 at First United Methodist Church beginning at 9:00 am with Pastor Peggy and Pastor Thom officiating.  Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, SR 82  Fort Myers.
