M aria D. Cantu 79 of Immokalee was called to Heaven October 5, 2019.

Mrs. Cantu was born in Matamoros, Mexico on June 1, 1940 to parents Guadalupe and Maria De Jesus. She worked att H & M Buckley Nursery in the landscaping department for many years. She loved working with flowers at work and at home. Her favorite colors were yellow and pink, she loved music, especilly hispanic music.  Mrs. Cantu was famous for her chicken and rice--it was also her favorite food to eat. Her favorite thing was being with her family!

Maria is survived by 1 daughter: Olga Cantu Correa(Manuel Sr.) and 3 sons: Guadalupe Cantu, (Rachel),  Enrique "Henry" Cantu, Jr. and Arnold Cantu, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren., many extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband Enrique Cantu, Sr. and father Refugio Delgado.

There will be a Visitation on Thursday, May 10, 2019 at Brister Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.  PLEASE NOTE THE TIME FOR MASS IS 9:00 AM, NOT 10:00a.m.
