On May 13, 2026, our beloved matriarch, Maria D. Vasquez, passed peacefully at the age of 93 in Naples, FL. Born on January 16, 1933, she witnessed nearly a century of history and change, yet remained grounded in what mattered most: God, family, and caring for those she loved. She was a woman of strong faith whose devotion carried her through life's joys and sorrows.

She was the heart of her family and was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita V. Reyna; her son, Fernando Vasquez Jr.; and her husband, Fernando Vasquez Sr. She is survived by her seven children: Ernesto Vasquez, Carmen Vasquez, Francisca Medrano, Francisco Vasquez, Manuel Vasquez, Esperanza Martinez (Ramiro), and Jessie Vasquez (Sylvia). She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and great‑great‑grandchildren.

Five generations of her family were blessed by her love, wisdom, and presence. Her family was her greatest joy, and she had a special way of making each person feel seen, remembered, and cared for. Through life's hardest losses, she remained strong, and her faith never wavered. She will be remembered for her warm sense of humor, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel at home. She was especially known for her cooking—most notably her homemade tamales, a tradition of love in every bite. Her life was one of resilience, devotion, and lasting memories. She leaves behind not only a family, but a foundation built on prayer, faith, tradition, and unconditional love. Her voice, her prayers, and her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will continue through every generation. She lived a long and meaningful life. While her earthly journey has ended, her legacy will live on in the stories we share, the traditions we carry forward, and the love she gave to us all. She always ended conversations with her cherished blessing: "Que Dios te bendiga, y que los ángeles te acompañen dondequiera que siempre vayas.
