Marion Marie Cook, 82 of Lehigh Acres, formerly of Immokalee, Florida passed away at Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres May 29, 2011.

Marion was born in Sorrento, Florida October 17, 1928 to father Clarke Peck Van Deroef and mother Estelle Marie Driggers Van Deroef. She married Carl Eugene Cook August 15, 1947 in Mt. Dora, Florida before moving to Immokalee and opening a propane gas company called Cook Gas.

Mrs. Cook will be remembered for many things including her love of her family and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed being a "home-body" watching TV hoping for a John Wayne "The Duke" movie, a Law An Order rerun or CSI mystery. A game show such as The Price is Right or Jeopardy. She always started her day watching Regis and KathyLee.

Mrs. Cook leaves behind to cherish her life and memories of her, two sons; Glen Cook (Debbie), and Timothy Cook (Krista) three daughters; Sharon M. May (David), Glenda L. Blackburn (Kevin) and Joy L. Hill (Darwin Hill) fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Eugene Cook in 2003 and son Robert "Bobby" Cook in 1970.

In-lieu-of flowers the family has asked that donations in Marion Cooks name be made to Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres, FL.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011, 9:00-10:00 am at Brister Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will then begin at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at the Baptist Cemetery, Immokalee, FL.
