Mary Lu Allen was called to Heaven December 2, 2012 after fighting a long and brave illness.

She was born August 21, 1927 to father Carl Hey, Sr. and mother Helen Stromburg Hey in Trinidad, Colorado.

Mrs. Allen recently lost her loving and devoted husband Jack D. Allen Sr., October 18, 2012 after 66 years of mariage.  They were married in Albuqueque, New Mexico, February 9, 1946.

She attended Everglades High School, where she was the Valedictorian. She earned her teaching certificate at 80 years of age!! and became a substitute teacher. One of the many memories will be her enjoyment of reading and the love she had and showed her family!

She is survived by son Jack Douglas Allen, Jr., daughters; Alice Dozier and Ruthie Christmas (Ed), five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister-in-law Billie Ruth Gibson (Bill). She was preceded in death by husband Jack Allen, Sr., and brother Carl Hey, Jr.

Mrs. Allen chose her own arrangements of cremation.
