Mary Jane Gay passed away on August 7th, 2022 at home under the care of Vitas Healthcare (Hospice). Born in a log cabin in the mountains of West Virginia, she was raised without electricity, but, did have a natural gas line from the mine on the same mountain, providing heat and use of the stove.  She attended school where she did well, and was offered a job at one point from the FBI, to which her parents said no.  She moved to Florida in the 1960s, where she met her husband Truman, they purchased property in Collier county in the early 1970's and had been a fixture to many here in the North Naples area. She prided herself in getting to know people, mostly by asking them to do something for her, lol, but always would know their name, and tell everyone who they were, and what they did for her. Name dropping, knowing who did this and that, seemed to be her mode of pleasure, along with caring for animals. Realtor, Bank Teller, Professional Photographer, Fruit Picker and employee of Corkscrew Sanctuary Swamp. She lived life at her mode of speed, and many knew her by her old Ford truck (1981) which she drove up to a month ago (sorry if she had cut you off or yelled out the window at you). She put a smile on many people's faces whom she exchanged conversation with and those who loved her. She will be greatly missed. No flowers please, donations to Vitas Hospice.
