We are saddened to announce the passing of Nelson De Jesus, Sr. 78 of Immokalee, Florida.

Nelson was born in Puerto Rico to father Sixto De Jesus and mother Felicita Rodriguez on February 27, 1943. He was devoted to his wife Margarita until she was called to Heaven in 2009 and still loved and talked about her until his death. Mr. De Jesus loved his large family and was always there to help each generation with good advise and love that he shared with everyone. He truly loved that everyone would come by to see him and spend time with him-it was truly important to him and he felt it was a blessing.  Watching boxing and baseball were a few hobbies he enjoyed.

Nelson is survived by his daughter Maria De Jesus, 3 sons: Margarito De Jesus, Nelson De Jesus Jr. and Benjamin De Jesus, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Sandra in 2020 and wife Margarita in 2009.

Calling hours will be held Thursday December 23, 2021 from 6:00-7:45 pm at Brister Funeral Home Chapel.  Please note due to the large size of the family, you may have to pay your respects and exit so the family has seating.  Masks are to be worn by everyone.
