Heaven received a new angel when Rafael Olvera answered God's call to Heaven. Rafael who everyone knew by "Rafa" was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on January 28, 1961 to father Jose Pablo Olvera & Maria Mendoza. He came to the U.S. when he was 5 yrs old & spent most of his life as a crew leader in agriculture. He met the love of his life Norma Arevalo when they were "just teenage kids" & after 2 yrs of dating they married in Immokalee May 1, 1982--they just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Rafa was known to everyone as a giving, selfless man, who would put everyone before himself. He was a hard worker and enjoying watching all weight class divisions of boxing & loved raising his roosters. The family joke was that he made sure the roosters were taken care of almost as well as a family. The most enjoyment he got from life was being a family man, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, & uncle.

He is survived by his beloved wife Norma Olvera, 4 children & 15 grandchildren: Maria L. Olvera(Rudy Anzualda)5 children;Austin, Xavier, Michael, Matthew & Gisela Anzualda: Marisela L. Estrella(Gerardo Estrella)3 children; Rafael, Malarie & Cruz Estrella: Rafael Olvera, Jr.(Mercedes Flores)5 children; Aiden, Kataleyah, Liam, Rafael & Arianny Olvera: Melinda L Ramirez (Ignacio Ramirez, Jr.)2 children Angel Linda & Anacio "Nachito" Ramirez, 6 siblings: Maria E. Olvera, Rosa Coronado, Emilia Olvera, Ana Carranza, Aurora Guerrero & Jose Pablo Olvera. Rafa was preceaded in death by his parents & 2 brothers:  Arturo & Oscar Olvera, special daughter-in-law Crystal Olvera & special niece Minerva Olvera.
