Randy Gilbert Sr.  53 years of age, from Felda, Florida passed away unexpectedly Monday January 16, 2012.

Randy was born in Washington, DC to father Charles Gilbert and mother Betty Houseman Gilbert on May 4, 1958.

He married Sharon Cheney almost 29 years ago on January 29, 1983 at First Baptist Church, in Immokalee. Randy owned and operated Gilbert Hauling, Inc., and will always be remembered for being contantly on the go, either working or being in the outdoors, and his love of telling jokes.He was a big fan of conservative talk radio and had a passion for reading, watching Florida State football. He could not watch a Seminole game without becoming an active participant in the game because he was an "unofficial" coach, player and league official.

He recently became a Grandfather and while his daughter Destini and new baby granddaughter Brystal were in the hospital, he would sleep in the parking lot waiting till he could get back in to see them.

Randy will be greatly missed by his loved ones; including wife Sharon Gilbert, daughter Destini Voorhees (Wes), son Randyj. Gilbert, granddaughter Brystal Ryann Voorhees, father Charles Gilbert, siblings; Mary Graddick and family, Alan Gilbert and family, Chuck Gilbert and family, Beau Gilbert and Mandy Hirshik. Father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Billie Cheney, brother-in-laws Lawayne Cheney and family, Casey Cheney and family along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Gilbert.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 10:00 am at First Baptist Church, Immokalee. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Baptist Cemetery, Immokalee.
