Shane Kennedy, jack of all trades master of none, jokester, never met a stranger, wannabe fishing master, storyteller, all about the U, and karaoke king, died on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Shane was born on December 28, 1975, to Sharon (deceased) and stepdad Joe Alvin Roberts in Haines City, Florida. He loved his mom, cherished his dad, and fought with his siblings Kevin, Deanna, and Angel. He married his wife Gloria on May 1, 2016.

He had a life-long love affair with cookies and milk before bed, steaks, sweet tea and the Miami Hurricanes.

He excelled at learning to be "el capitan" of his boat (came a long way from the one time the boat almost sunk with precious cargo onboard), never losing a game of competitive cornhole, pro at completing his honey-do-list, fearless to speak his mind, loved hard, and extremely spontaneous.

He despised phonies, the Miami Dolphins, know-it-alls, slow drivers, and snowbirds.

Because of his irrational fear that his family would throw him a Dallas-themed funeral despite his hatred for the team, his family will be holding a lantern release ceremony on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Bowman's Beach at 1700 Bowmans Beach Road in Sanibel at 7:15pm for the release of lanterns between 8-15pm. Please wear Miami hurricane colors – because it's "All About the U".

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to help cover the cost of medical expenses and family necessities.

Finally, the family asks that in honor of Shane that you go out and vote for Trump again to make America great again.
