Mr. Valdez was born in San Benito, Texas July 20, 1954 to father Pedro Valdez and mother Delfina Montez Valdez.

Ruben was married to his loving wife Elizabeth Cantu Valdez for 40 years. He enjoyed softball and Tejano Music. His favorite band was Joe Lopez Mazz. Ruben is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Valdez, daughter Mary H. Valdez ( Rudy), three sons; Ruben Valdez, Jr., Joe (Norma)and Adrian Valdez. Nine grandchildren and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 29 and Lake Trafford Road, Immokalee from 5-8 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens.
