Russell Howard Rumsey 80 years young, passed away after a courageous fight battling cancer.

Russell was born in Newfield, NY to father Jared Rumsey and mother Margaret Holley Rumsey.  He was an expert heavy equipment operator, winning awards for his perfection.  He loved being outside and in country settings.  Russell also was a craftsman at woodworking, making everything from small nik nacs to a large john deer tractor.  Russell also loved riding his motorcycles, which he and Elise each had their own when they were younger and then he had his own throughout his life, until 2 years ago.

He is survived by his wife for 50 plus years Elise Rumsey, daughter; Barbara Brister (Joe), son; John Rumsey (Kim), son-in-law; Mike Baker, 4 grandchildren; Travis Baker, Jared Rumsey, Sierra Brister, and Nicholas Rumsey, 8 siblings; Phylis Brooks, Jack Rumsey, Judy Niess, Susan Carlisle, Denis Rumsey, Loreta Rumsey, Marlene Crockford and Bruce Rumsey along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Baker and parents.

The Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at The Baptist Cemetery, Immokalee, FL.  Burial will follow also in Immokalee.
