Ruth Glidden 77 of Immokalee, FL passed away May 21, 2010.

Mrs. Glidden was born in Edinburgh, Indiana to John Waltz and Tessie (Nichols) Waltz.

She worked for 21 years as a Tutor at Highlands Elementary School, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Immokalee. Some of her hobbies included playing cards, reading, and bowling, recently she was known to beat everyone at wee bowling. She will always be remembered for the love of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Cindy Crabtree(Don), Thomas Glidden(Sandy), Becky Zarate (Gilbert), James F. Glidden, Jr.,(Judy) and Howard F. Glidden (Helen). Grandchildren;Dusty(Nichole), Clint, Amy Beall(Jimi), Thomas Glidden Jr., (Kristi), Hannah Glidden, Jenna Zarate, Sherri Glidden, Dan Glidden, Mark Glidden (Lou Ann) and Mike Glidden (Amanda) along with twelve great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James F. Glidden, Sr., grandson; Gilberto Zarate Jr., brother; Raymond Waltz, sister; Juanita McCleery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, Immokalee. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 at the church, with Pastor Merritt Waters officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Myers, FL.
