Sanford Charles Abowd's Obituary
SANFORD CHARLES ABOWD, born in Pahokee, Florida on January 12, 1944 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 26, 2015.
Mr. Abowd served in the United States Navy on the USS Piedmont and received a Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his two children: Stefanie Lee (Jesse) of Wellington, Florida and Steven Abowd (Kim) of Clewiston, Florida. Four grandchildren: Kaitlin Lee, Dustin Lee, Dylan Abowd and Hunter Abowd. Two sisters Betty Collins of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Rheta Cunningham of Valdosta, Georgia along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Abowd; two sisters: Dolly Bennett and Jean Cowart; two brothers: Donald Abowd and Charlie Abowd.
Sandford loved spending time with his family and close friends. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Brister Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will then follow at 11:00 a.m. with Ted Browning officiating. Burial will follow at the Baptist Cemetery, Immokalee.
