Thomas Arnett Conyer, 68 years of age, was called to Heaven May 7, 2015.

Thomas was a Florida native, born in Fort Meade, Florida on September 22, 1946. His father was Wallace Arnett Conyer and mother, Bernice M. Rivers Conyer.

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a mechanic and decided to return home to Naples, Florida, where he later met his beloved wife Gail McKellar Conyer. They married August 18, 1979 and had over 35 wonderful years together.

Thomas and Gail raised their family in Naples where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Specialist for Deltona, APAC and Southern Sand & Stone for many years before retiring September 30, 2011.

He will be remembered for many things. He loved the water and the land, and was just as comfortable outdoors as he was inside his own home. Whether it was a planned holiday or last minute, he loved to BBQ ribs and feed all his family and friends. He was a selfless, loving man and always put family first.

Although Thomas worked over 70 hours a week throughout the years, he cherished his time at home with his family. Once he was retired, his two great grandchildren were the new highlight of his life. Thomas' nephew, Derald Howell, grew alongside Tommy like a brother and great friend. They were always doing things together; like fishing, hunting and just talking. Derald was a great help taking care of Thomas since he had become ill.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Gail Conyer, daughter: Michelle Reese (Philip), sons: Thomas Conyer, Jr. (Lisa) and Michael Conyer, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Sisters: Anita Howell, Bobbie Bartolet and Joan McClenithan, mother-in-law Eleanor McKellar, sister-in-laws: Kim McKellar and Cindy Hofstetter (Phillip), brother-in-law Gerald McKellar (Yvonne), nephew Derald Howell (Debbie) along with many other nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 12th, 11am, at the Brister Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Baptist Cemetery.
