William G. (Bill) Price
lovingly called "Gruncle" by his family, passed away peacefuly in Naples, FL on July 30,2009.

Bill was born in Buckeye, Kentucky to John F. Price and Nannie L. Price. He attended the University of Florida before joining the US Navy to serve overseas in World War II. After the war ended he moved to Fort Myers, FL and was an officer with First National Bank of Fort Myers where he met Rhoda Lane. He and Rhoda married in 1946 and had three children. In 1963 he moved to Immokalee to become President & CEO of Bank of Everglades where he remained until retirement in 1990.

Throughtout his 44 yr banking career, Bill was active in community service in both Fort Myers and Immokalee. He received the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America and was inducted into the Business Leadership Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of Collier County. He also served as the 1975-76 President of the Florida Bankers Association. During his career, he served on the board of trustees of The School of Banking of South at Louisiana State University, served on the executive committee of the Community Bankers Division of the ABA and was an organizing director of the Independent Bankers Bank of Florida.

Bill was preceded in death by Rhoda, his wife of 53 years. He was also preceded by his parents, four brothers; John, Robert, Paul and Gordon Price, and sister Josephine Petersen.

He is survived by daughters; Pat Reed, and Jan Reaves(Jean-Paul),
son Steve Price (Janet)grandchildren: Barbara Brister (Scott), Lane Price (Jen), Kristin Green (Alton), William T. King (Brandi) and John M. Price. Great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brandy and Samantha Brister, Megan, Matthew, Zachary and Gavin Price, Kaylee & William Cody King, Abby & Alton Green IV;
sisters in law, Carolyn Price, Virginia Price and Kathleen Price.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Immokalee, 6-8pm Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Fort Myers at 10:00 am, Tuesday August 4, 2009 with Pastor Rick Heers officiating.
