"Celebrating the Life of Henry William Henderson"
William Henry "Geech" Henderson, 83, begin his life's journey in Blackville, South Carolina on July 4, 1929. Born to the late Mr. Boise Brown and Minnie Johnson, Henry was an industrious individual and life long mason, surviving through the dreads of the great depression and segregation by God's grace and his ever-present "mother-wit". A young Henry and his siblings were local celebrities—as they harmonized live on the local radio station. A lover of the blues and any thing Muddy Waters, he fancied himself an avid guitar player. Henry lived a full and colorful life that was highlighted by his confessing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, leading to his salvation prior to making his peaceful transition on October 1. 2012.
Henry was preceded in death by sons, William Henry Henderson, Jr. and William Henry "Dee Dee" Henderson, II; daughter, Mary B Henderson-Hart (affectionately called "Muda Ramma" by her daddy), and sisters, Beulah Mae Henderson-Chandler, Minnie Pearl Henderson, and Ethel Mae Brown; and one (1) brother, Bobby Brown.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Vivian Henderson (Alva, FL); (5) daughters, Minnie B. Henderson-Johnson, Fort Myers, FL, Debra Shawn Henderson Thomasville, GA, Wilhelmina Henderson-Pontoon (Kizer ), Alva, FL, . Lugeenya Henderson-Blackstock (Lenny), Lehigh, FL, and Dominique Henderson, Lehigh, FL; one (1) son, Larry Henderson (Effie), Immokalee, FL; five (5) sisters, Viola Henderson-Preston, Immokalee, FL, Diana Henderson-Brown, Stuart, FL, Rosa Mae Cohen (Julius), Ridgeland, SC, Mattie Brown (Dave Williams), New York, NY, Louise Hightower (Johnny Lee Simmons), Allendale, SC, Eula Mae Anderson (Henry Lee McCasket), Bamberg, SC; four (4) brothers Cush Foose (aka Bobby Henderson), Rochester, NY, Sangre Henderson, Jr. (Carolyn Richardson), Immokalee, FL, Jesse Smith, Bamberg, SC and Henry Brown, Celfax, SC; twenty-four (24) grandchildren, fifty-three (53) great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 13,2012 at 10 am in the chapel at Brister Funeral Home 221 N. 3rd Street Immokalee, Fl.
